Not Receiving Email From Rondee?

A user recently wrote-in to say “I submitted a registration request but haven’t received the confirmation email. Its not a spam issue and I know your conference system is working because I signed up successfully with a different email and got the email to confirm my subscription almost immediately. Also, I know that my email is working because I’ have received other emails incoming in the intervening period of time from Rondee conferencing. I seem to be out of options with respect to this one email address.  Can you help?”

Unfortunately this is the hardest sort of problem for Rondee to solve because it almost definitely means the user’s ISP is blocking our email. It happens pretty rarely because Rondee has become a trusted sender of email and has a long track record.  But when it does happen, the best solution for our users is to complain directly to their ISP and ask them to allow Rondee email to come through.

Would you be willing to complain to them?

Conference Call Muting

A new posting came up: ” I see Rondee can be confugured so that only those you want to be heard can be heard. But, is there a way to allow each caller to mute and un-mute their own line? This would allow only the people talking to have their line open and cut down on background noise while also allowing the participants to talk if needed.”

The answer is yes.  Callers just need to press pound one in order to mute themselves on any Rondee conference call.

Question About Call-In Prompts

A user recently asked how to customize the call-in prompts for Rondee conference calls.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the tab for “On Demand” (you’ll see the options bar on the left hand side)
  3. Choose the PIN you want
  4. You’ll see the option to customize what people hear when they punch in the PIN: simple tone, the ability to have them announce their name, silence.  These three choices are configurable both for conference call entrance and exit

Rondee 2.0 Officially Launched

This week Rondee 2.0 officially launched. A huge thank you to all of you that were part of the process over many months in testing and providing feedback on the new platform.

The following are highlights from the release carried by Yahoo News:

Rondee, Inc., the company that originated conference calling with web-based scheduling and response tracking, today announced the official launch of Rondee 2.0. Rondee 2.0 represents a major innovation in the free conference call market. For the first time, users now have access to a single platform providing the choice of scheduling a conference in advance with RSVP tracking or conferencing on demand. These new developments represent an industry first.

Additionally, users now have the option of customizing a variety of features such as configurable greeting tones, audio recording, detailed call reporting. These features can be customized for each conference PIN and users may have an unlimited number of conference PINs. After several months of successful testing with thousands of conferencing organizers, these options are available to the entire Rondee community of users.

Rondee CTO Mike Slemmer spoke to the significance of Rondee 2.0: “Rondee has always been known for combining ease of use with innovation. Our new platform builds on that tradition by giving users the ability to choose exactly how they want to do conference calling and making it easy to do it.”

Rondee is continuing to pioneer new offerings. The first to market with web-based scheduling and response tracking, Rondee’s free conference call service couples an intuitive interface with powerful conference calling capabilities and access to premium features such as toll-free conference call service.

What’s Changing in the New Rondee?

The new version of Rondee (officially launching late summer) will represent a total re-thinking of how we enable our users to organize, set-up and arrange conference calls.

A number of new features will be available now to BOTH On Demand users as well as Scheduled Rondee users in the weeks ahead….

  • The option to record your conference calls and access the audio.
  • The power to customize your greeting tones in order to control whether participants hear a chime, hear their names being announced (or simply silence) when they enter and leave the conference call.
  • A directory of your calls showing you who dialed in and for how long.
  • A listen-only setting which allows you to provide some or all participants with a listen-only PIN.

Equally importantly, the new version of Rondee makes it much easier to have both your On Demand as well as Scheduled conferences under “one roof” by providing a single interface which allows you to access both services.

If you already had a Rondee account with a password, there is no need to create a new account.  Your existing login e-mail address and password will work just fine.  We encourage you to take a tour of the new site

If you were previously using Rondee but had no password, you can continue using Rondee just like you were before. But if you want access to all the new features,  you’ll need to take a moment and sign up for a fully featured account by clicking on the link in the e-mail we will send to you as an existing user

Rondee question about charges

“I’m comparing our conference call options. Can you address this question: Toll or Toll Free Conference Calling – one of the ways many conference call service companies  offer a low rate is by providing a low rate for Toll Access to the conference call.  The problem with this type of access is that you and your conference participants might be incurring charges in the form of long distance charges for connecting to this local or toll number which is not local to you.  Especially if you are inviting customers to the call you do not want them to incur any toll charges to connect to your conference call.”

The statement above is certainly accurate.  Some people these days have unlimited calling plans and therefore do not experience any additional cost in making a long distance phone call.  Some people who are dialing in on cell phones with a fixed bucket of minutes simply have their minutes deducted and therefore do not experience any additional cost and making a long-distance phone call.  However, for other people, who are on the older plans where they are paying a per minute rate to dial a long-distance call would probably prefer to dial a toll-free number in which case the cost is simply shifted back to the organizer who has hosted the 1-800 call.

Question about accessing the audio for a Rondee conference call

Got this question asked this morning: ”

I have been receiving invitations to rondee calls from someone all winter. I finally set up my own rondee account a few weeks ago. But I cannot access my rondee account in relation to invitations to rondee calls. In other words, I can’ get to a recording of the conference call, because the system is treating me like two different people – one in my account and another in the invitation to a rondee call. Can you help me with this?”

There is an easy solution to this.  Assuming that Erik checked the box for “Record this call”, you can access the audio within 30 days of the call having ended by simply clicking on the link to the page for that conference which you will see in any of the invitation e-mails.  After you click on the link to that page from within the e-mail, you will be taken to a landing page for that conference.  This is the exact same landing page that you normally see when you are responding yes or no for your attendance.  At the bottom of that page you will see a link for the audio (if it is within 30 days of the call having ended).

Question about Rondee and long distance charges for conference calling

We recently had this question come across: ”

My company is thinking of switching our conference calling provider to Rondee. I understand that Rondee is a free

service, but I noticed that it says the cost for the conference call wouldn’t be any more than a regular long distance

call. What does this mean exactly? If I am in NYC and calling anywhere within US and Canada, is it the same national

fee, or is it as if I were calling Europe?

Thanks for clarifying!”

Our free conference bridge numbers are in California: 619-276-6333 and 916-209-4534.  Rondee will not be charging you for the use of our service.  However, if your phone company would normally charge you, say, 2 cents per minute to dial a California number from NYC, your phone company will still be charging your two cents per minute to dial our California number from NYC.
