Receiving Call Summary Emails for Free On Demand Rondee Conference Calls

A user recently asked: “I am no longer getting call summaries. I need these to see who was on our free On Demand Rondee conference calls. Please help!”

I just checked your account. The call receipt selection for this PIN code was not activated. That explains why you haven’t been getting the call summary emails.

Sign in to your Rondee account and click the On Demand link on the left. Click the PIN link. From the On Demand Conference Options page, select YES from the Enable Receipt drop-down list box. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Once you have made that change, you will receive an email call summary for all future On Demand Rondees made with that On Demand PIN code.

You can still view your On Demand call receipts from our website. From the On Demand Conference Options page for that PIN, click the Access Conference Data and Audio link at the top of the page. The Conference Data window opens. Click the Details button to the right of the On Demand Rondee to view the call summary information for that call.

Is There a Catch to Rondee’s Free Conference Calls?

A user recently asked: “Is  there a catch to Rondee’s free conference calls? Will a fee start being charged later? Or is it always free?”

There is no catch to using Rondee’s free conference calling service. If you choose to use our premium services, such as our toll-free (1-800) dial-in number or requesting a written transcription of a recorded call, there are charges associated with those services. Other than that, Rondee’s conference calling service is free.

Notifying Participants in Different USA Time Zones of Free Scheduled Rondee Conference Call Start Time

A user recently asked: “I need some guidance setting up a free Scheduled Rondee conference call for participants who are in different USA time zones. For example, two callers will be in Pacific and the other in Eastern. Is there something special I need to do?”

Sign in to your Rondee account and click the My Account link on the left. Check to see the default time zone selected for your account.  When you create a Scheduled Rondee and select a start time, the system automatically assigns the selected default time zone to the start time. When invitees receive their Scheduled Rondee email invitation, the start time will also indicate the time zone. If your default time zone is set to Pacific, your Eastern time zone invitees will need to recognize the time zone difference and dial in accordingly.

If you are concerned about any confusion that may arise, you can also note the differing start times in the Message field. For example, “Please note the meeting start time is 11:00 AM Pacific/2:00 PM Eastern.”

Listen-Only Callers on a Free On Demand Rondee Conference Call Not Prompted to Announce Their Name

A user recently asked: “I tested a free On Demand Rondee conference call using a listen-only PIN. I have the Call Experience Sound Effects set to announce name upon entrance, but it did not prompt me to announce my name when I entered the listen-only PIN. Why wasn’t I prompted to announce my name?”

The Call Experience Sound Effects selected only apply to the people using the On Demand PIN. The listen-only PIN users will not be prompted to announce themselves when they dial into the free On Demand Rondee conference call.

Questions About Recording a Free Rondee Conference Call

A user recently asked: “I see there is an option to record the audio of my free Rondee conference call. Is that part of the free on demand service or would I need to pay for that part? To record audio for one day only, can I change the setting to record audio prior to the call and change it back later or should I create a new PIN for that day?”

The recording feature is free to all Rondee users. You can activate the recording feature for a PIN prior to a call and deactivate it after the call. Or, you can create another On Demand PIN, activate the recording feature for the PIN, and use that PIN whenever you want to record your conference call.

Charges for a Free Rondee Conference Call in the U.S. and Canada

A user recently asked: “Do you have a free Rondee conference call dial-in number in Canada? Also, am I paying for the other callers who access the conference? Can you please advise?”

Rondee is a U.S. company. We offer two dial-in numbers – (409) 777-9000 (in Texas) and (916) 209-4534 (in California).  We also offer a 1-800 dial-in number that is toll-free in the U.S. and Canada.

To use our toll-free number, you need to charge up your Rondee Premium Services account (via PayPal) before the call and activate your Rondee conference call for toll-free access. After the call is over, we automatically deduct the charges from your Premium Services account. The cost is $0.05 per minute, per caller.

If you use our 409 or 916 dial-in numbers, Rondee does not charge you or your participants — the cost is the same as any other regular long distance call you make from your home or office phone. Also, for cell phone users, a call to Rondee is exactly like any other call you make. Each call participant will be billed according to their specific carrier’s long distance/cell phone calling plan.

Recording Back-to-Back Free On Demand Rondee Conference Calls

A user recently asked: “We used the free On Demand Rondee conference call service this afternoon to record a call. However, when I download the file, despite it saying the duration is 1 hour, 26 minutes, the recording is only 50 minutes in length. During the actual call, everyone had to hang up and call back in. We’d like to recover the missing audio. Can you help?”

If you do back-to-back On Demand conference calls, you must leave a 3-minute gap between calls to record both calls. I checked the call record and there was only a 2-minute gap from the time the callers disconnected and called back. Therefore, Rondee did not record the call after everyone dialed back in and rejoined the conference call.
